Limiting Beliefs Examples

To begin creating empowering beliefs for your goals, you must first recognise your current limiting beliefs.

Identify Limiting Beliefs

Take some time to consider your objectives, and then make a list of the beliefs that are preventing you from achieving them.

Do the following for all of your life’s goals:

Financial
Personal growth and development
CareersSpiritualsRelationships
Physical Education and Health

As you go through the list, you may discover that you have one limiting belief in financial objectives and three in relationships that need to be addressed. Each category will have its own set of rules. Once you’ve written your list, you’ll need to reframe the limiting thought in order to remove its hold on you.

Reframe The Limiting Belief

Neuroscience and studies on how the brain functions support reframing a limiting idea. You begin by examining one limiting belief and acknowledging its existence without endorsing it. Understand that it isn’t a true belief because there isn’t any solid evidence to support it.

Reject The Limiting Belief

The next stage is to reject that notion and acknowledge that it is a false belief that you picked up along the journey to adulthood. You reject it and tell that belief that it will be replaced with a belief that empowers you.

We can take the example of “I am overweight and cannot attract anyone.” This is a myth, and you can dispel it by recalling a time when you “knew” someone was interested in you, but reasons other than your weight prevented them from pursuing a relationship. It’s possible they were already dating.You might also look at examples of people you know or have seen in famous life who, despite being overweight, were able to attract the person of their dreams.

We can reframe in a variety of ways, and today we’ll look at an external reframe. Here’s where you’d jot down, “I’m confident that I’ll discover the person of my dreams because I’ve observed that many people, despite their weight, have wonderful relationships. Some people are drawn to people with large frames.”
You need to give the reframe greater force after you’ve introduced yourself to it. Allowing it time to establish a foothold in your mind and doing a few extra things to aid it along the way, such as anchoring and affirmations, are good places to start.

You want to strengthen your new empowered belief, and you may begin by anchoring it in your mind. The following steps can help you establish a new empowering belief:
Begin by recalling a period when you felt comfortable in your own skin. Create a movie in your imagination where you are confident about your physique if you tell yourself that you have never been confident in how you look and attract people. We still don’t know how the brain works; however, we do know that it can’t discern the difference between something that actually happened and something that you vividly imagined. Consider the new empowering idea, and then visualise your confidence in your body right now.
Choose a physical anchor like pressing your right index finger to your right thumb or creating a fist and tapping your left hand’s palm.

Begin imagining yourself as confident in your current body and filling it with pleasant emotions. When you’ve reached the pinnacle of your happy mood and are feeling fantastic, do the finger touch or fist tap to activate your anchor.
Allow yourself to return to a neutral condition before repeating the procedure.
Rep this process until the only thing left to do is trigger your anchor. You don’t need to visualise anything; simply touch your fingers or tap your fist and you’ll feel instantly appealing.

The third stage is to create positive affirmations based on your new and empowering aims beliefs. Make sure your voice is full with conviction as you say the affirmations. Continue this procedure, and your mind will be conditioned to accept the new empowered thoughts as true.
